White - represents purity, morality, and hope
Orange - Represents the Laughing Spirit, the protector of their world, and the bright-burning passion of the populace.

The bottom triangle and columns represent the Temple of the Laughing Spirit, a monument to Deimos's legendary protector which is the most prominent landmark of the planet. The five columns represent the five moons of the planet.

The white circle in the sky above represents the weak star of Deimos, being encircled by Deimos's five moons. An orange pentagram is superimposed over the white circle, representing the nation's proud and pure Witch heritage.

Of note is that Deimos's flag is held vertically upon its staff, rather than long and horizontally. There is no real reason for this other than Deimos's desire to remain different.

Settled by the Umber Expanse in the distant past, Deimos also came to be home to several Humans, who embraced the Witch-discipline of the Umbers already living there. When they were threatened by Elven Crusaders during the Galactic Dark Ages, and all seemed lost, the Witches on the planet prayed to their five moons, and, according to legend, a fearsome orange ghost in the shape of a smiling pumpkin arose out of the night sky, and the sound of booming laughter filled the air. All the Deimosians who heard the Sprit's laugh were imbued with immense magical energy. The Deimosians then won their battle against the Crusaders, driving the enemy back; the Crusaders never returned.

In memory of the Laughing Spirit, a great temple was built, and the Spirit became a god-like figure to the people of Deimos.

Today, Deimos has built a reputation as a small but remarkable nation. Active in diplomacy and trade, the Deimos has built alliances with several worlds in both Witch and Fairy dominated regions. They provided a small but distinguished contingent of soldiers in both the Great Galactic War and the Galactic War on Terror against the TRIX insurgency. They remain an observer state in the Winx Alliance.
